Adjusted chain on 2009 G5, and there is a rubbing noise emanating from rear wheel when wheel is turned. Didn't notice it before chain adjustment though it might have been there.   Even with loosening brake adjustment completely the noise persists, though it does sound like what one would hear if brake shoes were rubbing.  Any thoughts appreciated.  Al

If you didn't center the brake shoes after you adjusted the chain, one of them could still be rubbing.
You need to loosen the three nuts, axle, brake backing plate and brake pivot. crank the brake adjuster down to where it is pretty tight and has the wheel locked up.tighten down the Brake back plate nut, the big one, and then the pivot nut, the little one in the front, and the axle nut. The back off the brake adjuster nut until the brake shoes just stop rubbing. you should only have about 1/8"-1/4" brake pedal travel before the brake is locked again.

:)

When the chain is being adjusted, the rear brake backing plate that carries the brake shoes is totally loose.
When the wheel is moved to tighten the chain the brake backing plate can get way off center.  If it is tightened down off center, one shoe will drag even if the brake is totally released.

Do as bare described by loosening up all the nuts first.  Then tighten up the brake rod until the wheel is locked.  Recheck the chain looseness and then tighten everything back up before you loosen the brake rod nut.
