The scuttlebutt about H-D®© getting set to build a 500-ish cc cruiser in India has been on the web for a while.
I guess I am late to the party. I only just recently found out.

This looks like a big threat for RE in India as many are getting bored of single cyl and RE isn't doing that great in here either (in terms of performance).

By the way, the KTM390 is kicking some serious ass in here! I am seeing a lot of my bullet buddies going for them. Cheap and Fast! + That torque!

Interceptor 750 specs
Engine: Air-cooled 4-valve OHV pushrod parallel twin
    Stroke: 71 mm
    Bore: 93 mm
    Capacity 736 cc
Power: 60 bhp (at 6,000 rpm)
    Weight: 430 lbs
    Top speed: 105 mph
    Price in 1968: $1400

One would think this wouldn't be too hard to do.

I have the Blackhawk punched out to 716cc (by my math anyways) and it freaking rips hard!  I'm actually having trouble with the clutch hooking and need to upgrade it.  Between the awesome torque it's putting out and the short gears it starts slipping.  I'm confident once I get a new clutch and gears I should be able to lay down low 15's high 14's at the strip.  :)

Interceptors have been reported in the old road tests to be able to do low 14s and even some reports of high 13s in the quarter mile.
You need to get a good start without breaking something, and it should be pretty fast.
