Has anyone swapped out their stock battery carrier for a Lucas/King of the Road/Exide style rubber box? The lower attach point on my stock carrier has snapped so there is just one nut holding on it on. I love the look of the rubber boxes but most of the ones I find aren't big enough for my current battery; probably because they were originally for 6V batteries.

Edit: The bike is a late '99 RE Deluxe. I think the stock battery is a YB5L-B.

I've got them on a few of my bikes. Don't know what bike you have but the boxes don't fit to neat in the regular Bullet brackets. Hitchcocks sells a bracket that works. The 12V battery that fits is a TMS YTX7L-bs gel one. The box isn't big enough for an electric start battery.   ERC
