Over the past few months it appears we are getting quite a few new members to the forum. These new guys have no idea how valuable members like Bare- Ducatty Scotty-Arizona are to the forum.
I have been helped out many times by the above members and when a problem rear its head .....all replies are appreciated.
So even though members old and new come and go ........its still a great place to tune in and read the daily threads.
in reality i could have upgraded and spent up to $20k on a up market bike but i don't think i'd have any more fun than i have now.
so i think i will just keep filling in time and keep playing along with the royal enfield brand. i knew nothing about motorbike bikes when i joined 18 months back but the indian import  soon fixed that issue.  ;D

I’d like to voice my gratitude too to the old hands who have shown me the way on the start of a very long journey. Bare in particular but I know a lot of you have also helped me (I’ll work on remembering everyone’s names) It would have been an easy option to go for a Triumph instead, but it’s been an incredibly fun bike to start with and learn from.

To many thousand more miles to come – Huzzah!!

My thanks to all the old hands on here, as well. I try to make sure to thank folks for the advice each and every time, and hope I haven't missed any. But as for an overall, blanket sentiment... you all have my sincere appreciation. You've made living with the RE even more of a joy.

I would be the proud owner of a new Triumph if the gentlemen listed hadn't helped me make the Enfield enjoyable and reliable.  When I got it I didn't trust it to go to the corner store.  Now I'll ride 100 miles and back without a blink.

I am having a blast on my Royal Enfield. Its great to know there are guys on this forum who really know the motorcycles. That makes me feel much better about owning one. Its not like I can ride to a local biker hangout and there will be dozens of guys riding bikes like mine.

This forum helps me get the information I need. The guys who continue to answer questions day after day and to remain genuinely nice are the best.

Hats off to you guys!

And when we get to a dealership the lack of latte's, dyno charts, posuers etc. is pretty refreshing too.

I can't tell whether nice people buy the RE or the RE just makes people nicer.  Either way, this is a great community and people are willing to share their knowledge, time, and more.  Heck, Bare doesn't even have an RE any more and he still hangs out here, giving repair directions from memory :)

It might have been easier, but believe me, you'd be paying a whole lot more for that ease. Triumphs are pretty expensive because they are really are a PITA to work on! So the shops get you for more labor I've owned three of the Hinckleys and even if you do most of the work yourself, the parts are expensive. And gas costs a lot more!
I traded my last Triumph in on my Bullet. One of the best deals I ever made!
By the way, guys, thank you for the kind words. they are appreciated.

"Goes off in a huff"?
I bet he didn't go far!

The Huff was the low cost model made by one of the worst companies to ever make a automobile. :(

Everything about it was cheaper and it was a rare day when it wouldn't break down and leave the driver stranded 3 miles from his starting point.  The only good thing about it was it was pretty easy to walk the 3 miles back to get some help.

Of course the top of the line from that company wasn't much better.
Surely you've heard of all of the people who spent days "laboring under a Dilemma"?  ;D :o ;D

Thanks all for the nice complements.  :)

Yeah, well here's another...
All the aforementioned distinguished gentlemen have been a fair boon to me, too.
I've been a helicopter tech for 25 years, but the RE is a whole new game to me. They've all helped me over the first few humps and I can't imagine riding anything else (well, maybe one  :) ), or hanging with a better bunch!

I loved British bikes, Yes they broke & leaked. The Hinkley Triumphs are more JAPANESE in nature than British, heavy & brutish. The original Meridian Twin Triumph Weighed in with the Enfield, & handled like magic.  I'd accept the new triumph as a gift, but wouldn't BUY one.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

I'd have to agree with everything in this thread. Already been helped by the "Old Hands" aka the guys who know their poop-ola. Never been made to feel like an idiot either, though easily could have been. I have a Toyota FJ Cruiser and used to get on that forum too. Learned a lot, but this crowd here on the Enfield forum just seem to be really tops. Merci

True story. I wouldn't be where I am now (with RE) without the help and contributions of fellow members on this forum. The regular members have been a great help. Thanks everyone, and I hope this community goes a long way in to the future.
