The wheels are aftermarket junk that they sell for REs in India....plenty of ugly styles available.  The muffler looks like a vertical unit from an old-school Indian farm tractor....Mahindra, Escorts, Ford etc.

I was hoping it would be a Photoshop..but it seems legit. Those alloy wheels are available in different styles and are very common in the Indian state of Punjab.

I could see those wheels on an updated frame style (perhaps the "Thunderbird" available in India), but just does not seem esthetically right on the older style frames.

True, yet many people opt to have those aftermarket wheels.

I think the aesthetic is second to putting new stuff on your bike.  Kinda like lowering a Honda Civic until the wheels sit at very odd angles and it doesn't handle for squat.  Terrible function but you can brag about your new mod to your friends.

Aside from being completely ridiculous, it's.....well..... completely ridiculous.

And those wheels are actually heavier than the stock wire wheels, so you could consider them a "performance downgrade".

It does make me wonder about the cultural difference between here and India regarding the RE.  Here, they offend our sense if aesthetic on a vintage bike.  There, it's a cool accessory/upgrade.

They aren't vintage bikes there. It's just like owning the aforementioned Honda. The new ones look like the old ones, so who cares! Kinda like owning a Fiat 500 in Italy.
