That's the part that needs to be removed first, pitched and replaced with an NGK BPR6ES.
Improves everything! At least, that has to do with the bike running!

+1 I totally support Bare's view, since the new spark, the engine is more responsive and sounds a lot more healthy on idle. One thing that made a big differnce I found is topping up the battery water which was just on the minimum marks for all the chambers.

Hey now!  My bike never had a battery!  I needed it for for the electronic ignition.  PLUS, do you know how hard it is to find 6V light bulbs these days?!  LOL

Not quite up to date, are we? Haven't seen a 6V RE in a long time! AGM batteries are the only to go. When the bike falls over the spilling acid doesn't ruin the bike, not to mention te fact that you don't have to bother with servicing, and they work very well.
