After much lurking while I was debating getting a Royal Enfield, I figure I ought to make an account and introduce my self now that I have one.  After a good month of debate I went to Go Moto yesterday and picked up a 2013 G5 in that wonderful British racing green.  I have put about 100 miles on the odometer now and I must say that I am thrilled with the bike. It may not be as quick as my DR250, but it is a joy to ride.  Thank you to all the regulars hear who helped dispel my worries about the bike.

You have a beautiful bike and its a blast to ride. Just make sure you follow the break in period and you will be good to go.

I love mine and I can't wait to get in the saddle again.

Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the forum!!!    :)

Make sure to do your research and address sooner-than-later things like putting loctite on all the fastners, making sure your side stand switch is adjusted properly and what not.  Please post pics!

It will get even better, after you do a few things to it. Read up on all the threads, They will give you plenty of good ideas (with the exception of dipping it in flat black paint or putting on fat 1940's Firestones)

Nothing personal hipsters.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

Welcome and great choice on the Bike and dealer.  They have probably the best Mechanic in the business there.  And probably the most knowledgeable guy with these UCE bikes on the planet....  I bet that bike was set up right . Enjoy it !

You guys were not kidding about the Enfield attracting attention, I was getting gas today, and had a little boy come up and start asking me questions about the bike, and if i would run it up for him.  I complied as best as I could given the run in requirements.  Also, Pictures.

Here are a few with the DR250.  The two bikes are an interesting pair. The DR just begs to be ridden hard, it is smooth light and wonderful at any speed, while the Enfield loves to just cruse along in a nice gentlemanly manner, while still quite happy to run through the curves, and with plenty of torque whenever it is needed.  Both are a blast to ride.
