Apparently Harley was not real happy with Crocker. They got a hold of one and completely disassembled it and photographed all the parts looking for patent infringements. They didn't find any so they went to the companies that were supplying some of the parts like carbs and wheels and pressured them into not supplying parts as these same companies also supplied parts to HD. Crocker had connections at Indian so he ended up buying parts through Indian,as they did not view the small number of bikes being produced as a threat to their market share. However the Crockers were tough competition on the race tracks, but again not in large numbers.
