OMG! OMG! OMG!  Lets ask the moderators to lock any oil thread and make a sticky that says "Use what you manual says to use and don't start another oil thread or you'll be banned for life!"   :-X

This is what it all boils down to.....

1.  Use any oil you want as long as it doesn't have modern friction modifiers & is of proper weight/vicosity.
2. CHANGE YOUR OIL WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO!!!
3.  Continue to follow these rules throughout the life of your bike.


There.  Problem solved.
