OMG! OMG! OMG!  Lets ask the moderators to lock any oil thread and make a sticky that says "Use what you manual says to use and don't start another oil thread or you'll be banned for life!"

This is what it all boils down to.....

1.  Use any oil you want as long as it doesn't have modern friction modifiers & is of proper weight/vicosity.
2. CHANGE YOUR OIL WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO!!!
3.  Continue to follow these rules throughout the life of your bike.
