After months (7) of pondering, soul searching and trying other makes (I even bought a used GoldWing 1100), I finally did it. I am a proud owner of a 2012 teal C5 Classic. I own it, but won't take delivery until Tuesday, 7/2. Anticipation is growing.

I started riding in 1967, except for a brief period (3 years) in the 70's and a long period (the past 13 years) I've been riding. 5 years in England, 4 years in Italy, brief periods in Thailand, and a bunch of years in the USA.

I have wanted a Bullet since the late 70's, but access to one in the USA was not easy. Now I own one. I' selling the Wing (a ponderous riding bike) and the Bullet will be my primary means of transportation when not traveling with the wife.

The beast (Enfield) will be named ROCINANTE (The plow horse Don Quixote rode to persue his dreams). I've arranged for a 'pedestrian slicer' -front mud guard licence plate- to be installed. Rocinante will be painted on by a sign maker within month or two.

I commute 18 miles one way to work. It won't take long to get through the break-in period.

Color me happy, excited, proud, and ... HAPPY!! And the members of this forum gave me the information I need to form this decision

THANK YOU ALL!

Congratulations and welcome to the group! Teal is definitely an amazingly distinctive color for the RE. Get ready for a million questions from curious strangers!

Congrats!  I think you will be very happy with it. I've just put on a bit over 1500m on my black/chrome C5 and it runs like a champ. Welcome!

You have what will become a rare bike. We have three left in our warehouse and when they are gone that color is gone. It has been discontinued. I love the color but it will be no more. Welcome to the group!!

Congratulations mate! I had also been in a similar situation, and my brand-spanking-new B5 will be delivered on Wednesday! I certainly know how you feel :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to meeting you who are in my area (Southern California - Orange County). If you see me, don't be afraid to wave me down.

Are there any worthwhile clubs for retro-riders like us? I'm apolitical, but won't mind being around like minded individuals.

Enjoy the day!
