Thanks guys - and THANKS Gashouse Gorilla for having faith in those wildly modified parts for the bike! The article was great - but skipped over the blood, sweat and tears that went into that bike - but the learning curve was outstanding! Gorilla's body, paint and fabrication are off the end of the chart for excellent - and I got to utilise a couple of years of experience in the engine machining biz as well as some old-fashioned tried and true racer-boy tricks. All said - I'm stunned at the result. The bike is WAY more than the sum total of its parts - it has SOUL! That machine is the difference between assembling a motorcycle - and BUILDING one .... with a #4 mill bastard file, a welder, a small lathe and a drill press (complete ScooterBob machine shop .... Hahaha!) It's amazing what a couple of Celtic boys can come up with in their spare time with a few junk parts .....  ;)
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

I could not have said it better me self me brother. ;)   And no, never a doubt in me mind.....  When a boy shovels a path out to his frozen Minnesota shed, to grind on some cams and work his magic on a head ...... Damn ! I'm still shaking from that first ride !  He..he..he.

Yeah...... still scratching my head about that one Scottie. Still working the math.....  LOL!  yeah, a few inconsistencies in the article for sure.  That would be 42 psi for the injectors.....  AND I did not realize I had a small alloy fender in the rear ? ???  The wobbles were fixed BEFORE we started the project. On the stock bike ,with the stock parts !!  Something all of us here could have clued them in on,  before they through a hole bunch of expensive suspension parts at it, on their project !  But I believe they were referring to the rear seat support. But it's all good......

I think ghg's bike is one of the coolest custom bikes ever as it has the personal owner's touches, kind of like reading a book that tell a story about the author.

WOW !  That's perfect I think... Thanks !  But I would just add, that it has the personal touches of the BUILDERS.... And I just have the privilege of  riding it.

Fantastic ! The attention to detail is meticulous, and the personal touches show well. Its really beautifully done, MUCH better than the totally uninfomred buffoonery from the cafe racer guys.

Now, about the go-fast stuff. The last time you posted you were still tuning the PC-V and were unsure of the dyno numbers...All squared away on that?

Yes  thanks,I agree, more so to ScooterBob in this case though.  The performance is the difference here, I think.  Otherwise it might have just been a cool looking C-5, that didn't go anywhere.

Preciate that that 1 thump...... But we did have the luxury of time to get things right. And had a little more experience with these Bikes. Not everybody is an Enfield Nut like us......

And yes, i think we were squared away with those numbers the last time ?  Back in April was it ? .... we were good with the Map and the Dyno numbers.  You always PLAY with these things, and I may during the course of the summer, wring out a little more? But right now it's good and I just want to ride and enjoy it for a bit..... well generally beat on it and have fun !  LOL !

I've never been a fan of the "If it don't go - chrome it!" school of thought. All of MY junk runs well .... but looks all sweaty and tattered .... It's NICE to have one under the belt that runs good AND looks like it belongs to someone besides Fred Sanford! Hahahaha!! It was fun to re-do some of the old school voodoo that I did years ago on my stuff to make it run better than all the boys with the fat wallets and no clue. Budget Engineering and Sweat Equity Company is alive and well ......  ::) ;D

So GHG, what are the numbers ? Did you really double the hp and torque as the magazine states?

    These are the Numbers  1Thump:

http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/forum/index.php/topic,16128.45.html

We were done tuning the Bike ,in it's present form in early April.  With the PC-V .... not the Pc-3, as stated in the article. The Magazine was contacted in early LAST December. With some pics and a description, in hopes of consideration , that they would have the bike at their booth at the Javits show in NYC.... as I have been there before with them. As stated earlier in the thread, they did not contact me again since last December .  So no, we did not wind up doubling stock HP.... we went from a Stock 18 or 19 HP, to 29.50 hp, and 31.70 ft pds. With stock displacement, head work, cams, etc. Inside the stock redline/ limiter.  The stock 23 HP they mention in the article ?!   Seems a bit optimistic to me..... unless they are talking about BHP, not rear wheel HP ?    But either way, no we did not double stock out put.

SB definitely has a nice bunch of bikes!  I think some group encouragement is needed to see a ScooterBob Cafe Customs in sunny MN.  I would be first in line for a custom engine job.
