GOOD NEWS & BAD NEWS. I have heard lots of bad things about progressive-including bad marks for the owners socialist/totalitarian politics. Now they want drivers to have a plug in snitch in their cars...BIG BROTHER WATCHES.
GOOD NEWS:  Look into MARTEL insurance. After HAGERTY classic insurance paid off $6K (agreed value) for my totalled 01 Kawasaki W650, they would not insure my 2010 Enfield, They recommended MARTEL insurance. I was very suprised at the rates, & signed with them.  JUST UNDERSTAND THIS - INSURANCE COMPANYS AREN'T YOUR FRIEND, Gotta approach them with this in mind. They will usually sell a totaled bike back to you for cheap. in my case with the W650, I had already found a 01 Miata to spend the generous $6K on, & let Hagerty have it for that.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

When my Ducati got totalled (backed over by a little old lady) her insurance was pretty good about things, she had All State.  When the shop manager heard she had All State he was happy, said they are very easy to work with.  They assessed my bike at $4k, I wanted more.  I found 3 comparables in ads and had the shop manager write a letter saying they would sell that bike for $5k.  It took a week longer but they came up to $5k.  I think it was $1250 to buy the bike back if I wanted it.

Progressive offered me the bike back for $900. However, they stole the title and I would have to get a Salvage title. I told them to keep it and I'd get something else.
So I did. And they aren't the insurers. Flo can stick it. She has no taste anyway, she's into Hardleys.

I had a Ford Thunderbird that was totaled by Progressive.  I signed the title over, received my check and went on my way.  Progressive sold the car at auction, the new owner did not receive a salvage title and never transferred the title.  I received calls for months from a tow yard because the vehicle a had been towed and no one claimed it.  By the time they were calling me they didn't even have the car.  The whole deal seemed fishy.

The point of the rant is that the bike might not have a salvage title.

I have Progressive insurance on my G5 too but I don't see a reason to change right now.

Every one of the insurance company's have the same methods and they all will grab your bike if it gets into an accident and has much more than a broken tail light.
