I hve a lo mileage 03 Bullet 500 deluxe. I recently added 90 weight gear lube, and it shifted like a HONDA!!. But leaked out almost immediately. I wanted STP, but ended up pouring in half a pint of Motor Honey oil additive. Looks like STP. THICK. It shifts great again, and only had oil splashing out the inspection  covers,so it may be too full. Has anyone else done this? Id really like to seal the kickstart . Does anyone sell a seal? Will the Motor Honey mix in with the grease that's original, and work well?

Sealed bearings with gear oil conversions are a good and worthwhile mod to the four speed gearbox.

If you go that route don't forget to drill a tiny vent hole in the fill plug.

No matter where you go, there, you are.

so,where can I get the seals, and is it a direct fit? Or do I need to machine the housing?

NField gear has a sealed bearing kit for the 4-speed gearbox.

ERC, an easy job? Im very mechanical,as I do maintenance in industrial and commercial businesses, but am NOT versed in trannys. AS easy as removing a side cover? or should I send it out?

Anybody can do it. It involves more than just removing a cover. But definitely doable. Just take your time.  ERC
