Hi forum,
I rode my G5 on firday and parked it in garage but this morning was planning to ride to work, started the bike and within one minute on the road all the power went off, checked the 20 amp fuse and it was blown, replaced new one and started the bike on centerstand and it blew again within one minute...I know have to find short somewhere, please give me some lead for most common places..
Thankyou
Singh

Pull the head light. I'll bet ya a beer that you'll find some melted nastiness in the rats nest of wires behind it

i found two on my g5 ,one near the inlet manifold where the loom almost touches the head and the second near the drive sprocket where the wire from the brake light switch was rubbing against the crankcase. in both cases the heat had melted a tiny gap in the insulation. quite difficult to spot amongst the dirt and oil. good luck with it.

Look under the passenger seat, specifically the area where a harness goes from under the seat to under the fender (these wires go the back where your Taillight and turn signals are located) Its where most of the time the harness wires get into contact with the wheel and gets shredded..

Update - went across every possible wire connection and started taping wherever accessible , I think taping two bare wires under the headlight solved the problem. I have 7" tribar halogen light - that was bit tight against other wire and speedo wire - yellow/orange/blue headlight wire cnnectors were bit exposed  also..so taped them nicely...taped the speedo cable wire - rode around neighbourhood everything seems to be fine...will take it to work tomorrow..

Thanks forum

Ah!  Then Coors Light might be just the ticket! :)

(Just kidding, but Coors Light is a pretty poor excuse for beer.)
Maybe a can or bottle of Vernors Ginger Ale will do?

I'll take Vernors  over te silver bullet any day. I actually have a small Vernors memorabilia collection.  I've been told I look like the leprechaun on the logo:)
