Just figured out today how to do this, every time!!!

Pull in clutch, click one down, then one up and it drops into 4th every time!!!

I have not had any trouble going between 4th and 5th on my 2011 G5. Since I am in town most of the time and not on the highway very often I don't get in to 5th every time I ride. But when I have and then have dropped back to 4th its been fine (knock on wood).

Getting into 4 th used to be a bit dicky on my g5 also but once I got passed about 5000 odd km it self healed. It seemed to happen more when I had boots on and my foot was less sensitive to the clunk.now at almost17000 km it only happens very occasionally when the bike is cooling slightly after a highway run.
