I just downloaded a GPS speedometer for my smart phone to use with the Indian.  Does anyone have any experience or recommendations with any handle bar mounts?  I see there is a bunch of them on Ebay, but I'm not about to lose my phone either, so I want to make sure I get a good one that's not going to drop my phone.  Thanks!

I have a RAM mount that I bought here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BEX2LZY/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It connects to my side mirror spindle, securely fits virtually any size device (screwdriver needed to change the dimensions), and can be rotated in lots of different ways without tools. The phone is absolutely secure.

Assembling it was like building the Space Shuttle out of Lego -- not mentally complex, but tedious.

That item is really an assembly of four parts:
a finger grip mount like this:

plus this ball that screws into the back:

plus this socket arm:

plus this base (I *think* this is the one):

I found this 1 on Ebay.  Seems pretty legit, and most importantly, it's in my price range.  Any thoughts?

What's your phone worth when it goes bouncing down the road?  ;) I have a I-phone 4s and in my car I use the Techmount I-phone cradle. They are like $15.00 and any bike shop that deals with Tucker Rockey can get it. You would have to make a mount though to make it work as it's just a cradle. The phone in very secure in it though.

I have full phone insurance through Best Buy.  As long as I can get A piece of my phone back from the carnage I'm good.  LOL    ;D

Seriously though, I really like how that mount posted above is set up.  I enjoy the fact that the phone is snap locked inside the case that is snap locked into place.  Bottom line is I'm a poor boy and can't afford a $100 mount right now when I already have to spend $225+ on an upgraded alternator set up for my bike.  Apparently I still have the original 55 year old stator, so I have to buy the alternator AND the adapter plate AND new rotor.    :(

Where I'm getting at is this is best mount I've found so far in my price range.

Wow, Rich - is that mounted to your mirror?!?  My mirrors vibrated so much I couldn't see out of them - I wouldn't have been able to see the phone display either!  But I've heard that some of these bikes vibrate more than others...

Yeah, it's not ideal. I can't really read anything on the phone while I'm moving. But it's near the charging outlet and I can see when I have alerts, and then look at them when I stop.

I bought a Ram X mount for mine..

http://www.amazon.com/RAM-Universal-X-Grip-Holder-1-Inch/dp/B0055PH0XA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1368212034&sr=1-1&keywords=ram+bar+mount

Works great and will even hold the phone when it is in a bulky Magelan waterproof case.  I liked it so much I took it off the my bike and use it on my boat attached to a 1" grab rail.  (I use my iphone as a chart plotter)
