hey guys

getting ready to install my D&D full system today and i cant figure out how the hell to get to the last hanger bolt.  the one that goes through the passenger peg... which i want to remove as well.  any ideas or anyone with experience removing the silencer on a c5 wanna say how they got it off?  thanks

Don't remember specifically but there's a nut on the back of the passenger peg, just comes right off the bolt is part if the peg.

yeah i see the nut, problem is no matter what angle i approach it from theres always either a brace, a pipe or a bracket in my way.  ive tried using both a c wrench and a ratchet

You remove the silencer by removing the heat shield. the heat shield has a hook on it that engages a hook on the pipe. It seems that there is a clamp around the pipe under there too.
It sounds like the C5 footpeg is different than the C5. But loosening the nuts at the head will let the pipe swivel around a bit, then you should be able to get to the nut.
If those lights like the tombstone had a ground wire, it would probably just be soldered to the outside of the light socket.

A box wrench worked for me.  There isn't much room to swing it, but after a 1/4 turn or so, you can start turning the foot peg.

open end spanner - works all the time. hold the nut with the spanner- fold up the rear foot peg and push down on it.
will release easy ;D
