Hey guys

Nfg has the 7" headlight rings back ordered.  Does anyone know if there are any ther places they are available or if there are any other conversion ring that will work on the c5?

Yeah I saw those,  thanks.  Looked like a great option... Until I noticed that they could take 6 weeks to get here

I just ordered the one off of eBay, from India. It was $30 for both rings and clips, with expedited shipping. It says it'll take 4-6 days to get here. I think it ended uo being $18 for the rings and $12 for shipping. Not bad at all if they work.

Seems like that a lot with the Indian stuff, shipping is about equal to the cost but it's still very inexpensive.

He needs both rings that are offered by the Indian company. The second adapts the ring to the casquette, the the headlight ring itself attaches to the first one. Headlight rings are available all over the US. Any well stocked vintage Brit bike shop will have those. The adapter is tougher to come by. NFG Has them but, I think they only sell the set.

Oh well, already have the outer ring coming my way I guess.  Now just need to find the inner ring in the us.

MANY of the 7" reflectors are deeper than the stock light. I bought the whole inner/outer set, but my 7" reflector would have been to tight a fit so I couldn't use it. I was forced to use the thicker/deeper original inside ring by cutting all the tabs out of it. That was the charm, with a little tweaking I got fine results. See below...

This is a Minda brand 7" headlight kit.

I did have to add a ground wire for the light bulb.Was no big deal....part off ,...part on.

To anyone worried about shipping times from India, I upgraded to expedited delivery ($8 more) and this is my tracking info... Pretty sweet, now lets just hope the product is good.

Picked up my headlight rings from DHL today and they look great. No chrome issues so far. Once I figured out the W clips it was a 10 minute job. The mounting holes are a little small, but that was an easy fix. Definitely $30 well spent.

All said about $60 invested. The headlight assy was made in India too, incidentally.  The chrome, however, looked nice but has not held up well. It's rusted like crazy and I was contemplating painting it but decided to leave the patina. I get more people contemplating my "old" bike that I've kept running all these years and i've had more people calling bullshit when I say it's new. My credibility would be better if I lied and said it was a 1955 bullet.

I've had the NFieldGear 7" through two Pacific Northwest winters, no rust.  And I only wash my bike once or twice a year.

That's ok.  I have to explain to people that know bikes why I have "a 'BSA' or 'Triumph' motor on an Indian frame".   I lost count of how many times I've had to explain the whole RE badged as Indians thing.  Not that I'm bitching about it, I really enjoy all the conversations my bike has started.   :)

That's what I'd like to say but usually I end up just telling folks that Royal Enfield never went out of business and it is a 2011.  :(

Then there's the guy at the car show who said he used to be a dealer.
He mentioned selling new 2007, 500's and how they all leaked oil.  Then he looked at the front forks and pointing at the leading axle said, "They changed the forks!  They always had the axle in line with the tubes but I see they moved the axle forward on the new ones."

I didn't say anything but knowing that Royal Enfield has had the axle forward of the sliders ever since they first came out with them in 1948 it makes me wonder about this new found "expert ex-dealer".   ;D
