Well I just finished wrestling on a new Pirelli MT66 onto my rear wheel. It rides way better, turning and weaving is a breeze. I'm beginning to have the sinking suspicion that I put it on backwards though. It is meant to be a front tire and I installed it on the rear. I think I read somewhere on this forum that you should put it on backwards for the rear, which I did. I didn't understand why, seeing as both tires turn the same direction but I figured you guys know better... or do you. Let me know if I screwed the pooch or if I'm fine.

It was a front tire, only had one arrow.

you might want to get ahold of pirelli and ask if the direction is critical. doesn't sound like that big of a deal. how does it sound? feel?

The way I understand it, if a 'front' tire is mounted on the rear, you run it opposite rotation. Reason being, has to do with the design of the plys. (plies?) The front tire is designed mainly for braking forces, whereas the rear tire is designed for acceleration. Two opposite forces. Sounds reasonable to me ...

I would imagine our Enfields would be very forgiving in that, considering the moderate power output and somewhat meager braking capabilities.
