Yesterday I went thru one of those neighbor radar things. My speedo said exactly 40 mph, radar said exactly 35mph. Good to know.

My B5 speedometer shows about 5mph faster that I'm actually going.

If anyone else is curious about the degree of variance, you can get GPS based speedometers for your phone and use them to compare actual speed vs "Enfield speed".

I don't think one of those would work with my phone.

Even though it has a long cord on it I'd use up that 50 feet long before I could read the speed I was traveling.

I use a Garmin 1490. I have it setup on my other bikes, not on the Bullet yet. That's how I determine my speedo errors.

GPS reads my suggestometer as being three kilometers short of what is on the gauge.

A throw back to a simpler time...when motor cycles were all air cooled and kick started...

Mine is 5mph off.  Lots of free speedo apps for smartphones.

I spend my riding time looking for lightbars, emerging traffic, potholes, brakelights - hardley ever the speedo.

You sound like my wife, except she doesn't look for any of that stuff and has the points on her license to prove it!  ;-)

There is a bad ass app for the Iphone that is not only a G-force and 1/4 mile grapher, but if you can mount it on the windshield (or possibly handle bars) it will take video and graph at the same time.  It will then save the video and show the graphs on top of the video and then you can upload it to your computer.  My buddy has it and uses it in his '72 Chevelle street/strip.  It is really cool, I was watching him do his passes at the drag strip and seeing EXACTLY what the car was doing.  I'll have to ask him the name of it again.

If you're going to break the speed limit, don't video tape it ;)

Being able to break the speed limit on a Bullet is an achievement.  ::)
