Just got the amber LEDs for the pilot lights, i ordered pilot amber lenses from ebay and ordered a diode kit and flasher so that should take care of the front.

For the rear i got some of these:

will put them on the bike to look like this:

Man i cant wait till this is done, i love just getting things down as simple as possible.

hopefully the wiring for the pilot lights as blinkers is straight forward. I cant imagine it wouldnt be, but you never know!

Has anyone on here done this?

Alright made it through the pilot light to turn signal wiring (easy), diode wiring (easy, thanks to the thread on here and Gremlin!), LED flasher (easy) and then the LEDs for the turn signals.

Here are some (bad cell phone) pics to show some of the lighting:

blinker lit- its bright!

So, the only issue i ran into was over torquing the leds on the back. i pulled the mounting bolt out of the plastic, i didnt even wrench that hard. so im going to glue those and use them as spares and ordered some new ones, which i will use loctite on. This will also give me a chance to fix my measurements- since the lights, though measured twice, are off (just slightly... but i notice).

I really really like the look, the rear blinkers now match the tail light (did LED replacement on that bulb too), and they look like they belong. I also like not looking down and seeing chrome signals on my forks! Simple is nice, less is more. I have amber lenses on the way for the pilots, will see how they look and post when they get here!

Very nicely done. However, not sure about the front indication in the pilot lights. They might not be visible to some motorists at certain angles? (Of course not looking from the back or 200ยบ etc  8)) The headlight might overcome the pilot light signals, but! having LEDs in my pilot lights as well, I hope it wouldn't be a problem.

Don't get me wrong, you have some very unique touches to your RE going on there  :D

A lean clean mean machine  8) 8)

Like I said in the other thread if you can get away with it the better.
Did compare it to the first pic and savoured the improvement.  :)

That exhaust is the D&D full system.

Bike looks great!  Time to black out the headlight ring and the fork lowers.  Maybe try some Plasti-Dip in case you don't like the outcome.

I forget who, but someone here is a powder coated and blacked out pretty much every shiny bit on their military not long ago, looked awesome!
