I replaced the worn stock chain @3600 miles on my G5 Deluxe. I used a $40. Japanese RK racing chain, which I shortened, then added a half link to give me the recommended 101 links- DON"T BOTHER, just use 102 links & save time, $, & effort. I will need to either lengthen my chain or find a little more slack. To accomplish this I needed a 30mm wrench to loosen & adjust the "stub Axle" that holds the brake drum sprocket unit to the swingarm.... Not included in my RE tool kit, & local auto parts stores can't even order one that large. I have been reluctant to use my big adjustable wrench (nut rounder) on it.
***Finaly some joy, WW GRAINGER offers a combination double end offset boxwrench 30mm & 17mm, #36A158 for $6.95 (under $20 with shipping) It can be ordered online. I just hope I don't need a redux on my chain replacement-No fun the 2nd time. I also hope this info is usefull to someone.
