my wife put her foot down and said, "No more bikes."

I had a wife tell me that once. The wife is gone!
My favorite car ever was the Miata, My second favorite was a '67 Mustang fastback. It was ruined by a guy the crashed into it one night while it was parked. The repair job in Wyoming sucked and the trunk leaked like a sieve. I didn't realize I until I got back to Florida where it rains! I traded it for a Maverick which turned out to be just about my least favorite car

My first car was a '67 Mustang coupe.
I traded it for an Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite.

The lack of a gasket could definitely cause the popping.
Good gasket source; http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/an900.php?clickkey=7239
These will do the job. Measure the exhaust port before ordering.
Bare

the 1-11/16 gasket is what I measured that the bike will need.
does that sound right to you Bare?
thanks!

the stock gasket is horrible, I've gone thru 2 of them already in 1000 miles and also the header pipe nuts, those things.... they turned brown after a 600 mile ride. time for some stainless steel ones....

Sounds right to me. I can't remember what I ended up with, but I know 1-3/4" won't fit!

I wish I still had one of my Bugeyes. Extreme fun!

Just wanted to mention, I got the 1 1/2" size and it fit and is working fine.  This is part number AN900-24 and they only cost $0.78.  I got 5 for about $8 with shipping.
