I'm using a K&N cone filter on my 535cc '04 Sixty-5, but have seen some guys using the velocity stack.   Is one distinctly better than the other?

Velocity stack flows more air (and dirt )
No matter where you go, there, you are.

definitely more dirt, maybe more air. However I wouldn't look for big changes on your ET at the drag strip.

Velocity stacks do look nice, but as mentioned, they let in a lot of dirt.  They're fine for show bikes or the "weekend warrior" but if you ride on a regular basis I wouldn't risk not having a filter.  Besides, a K&N is as close to free flowing air as you can get.

I run a screen Velocity Stack now, but will switch to a K&N when I install my alloy jug and Ace piston.  On a side note, I have been running a Stack for several years w/out issue or loss of compression.  When I get on it, you can hear the air getting sucked in!!
