I like the first set better myself.  Not really feeling the second set.

The second one is a mountain bike mirror.  It attaches with Velcro over the grip.  Not great if you ask me.  You can look for it in local bike shops if you like.

The first one looks ok in person but is inexpensive.  It tends to vibrate a lot.  Napoleon bar end mirrors are much higher quality and have the same look.  They are more expensive of course but a great option if you like the style.  Mine are 8 years old and still look great.

Halcyon also makes some REALLY nice bar end mirrors for our style of bike.  I don't see them sold in the US much, but you can order from UK.  Very pricey but about as nice as you can get.

I was looking at the first (Napoleon-like) ones last fall - I probably would have bought them, but at that time Tim at NFG said they had flat, not convex, mirrors.  Maybe different now, but at the time I went with "Scottie's" proper Napoleons and I'm happy - crystal-clear convex mirror, and sturdy all-black housing.

But damn, look at that NFG price!

Based on this feed back I'm going to opt for a set of N-bar ends off of Ebay.

Thanks for the heads up on the second "mountain bike" mirrors. (ew)

Pics soon.

Baren Napoleons are the best way to go. Very nice fit and finish, and the supplied bolts fit perfectly through the RE bar end weights.

I bought a pair of these things. They work great, RE mirror sockets are 10mm. I got black they come in chrome too. Now my stock mirrors work fine. These guys are just long enough to let me see behind me and I am 6'6" & 280lbs.

BTW, if you get them, get 2 RH....RH stands for thread direction, not which side of the bike.

Jon, I bought a pair of similar extenders from Hitchcocks for about the same price. I ordered them based on your rave review of yours, and they arrived today. Looking forward to being able to see behind me!
