As the shoes thin out the self energizing effect seems to increase. Many folks (the PO?) use the rear brake almost exclusively. If the friction lining is getting thin, maybe time to toss'em.

The Swing Arm bushes are ok, hardly anyplay. I want to check the clutch touching the inner case. Another thing(although was the first thing I checked - all chain links, i found chain is ok) is to check each chain link for any breakage or binding. I will also cross check the alignment of rear wheel, may be on higher speed the chain is hitting the shoulder of tooth.

Any progress?  If it's flopping chain strike situation, there should be some "witness marks" on the chain & frame/cases...?

Is the clutch basket wobbling and touching the cases? There are some ball bearings inside it, maybe the cage is fubar and they are scrunched onto one side, creating eccentricity. Pretty easy to take apart with the primary cover off.

Not yet...tomorrow have an off. Will do the things tomorrow. I am suspecting wheel alignment issue, as the rear wheel is almost touching the chassis. Yes there is some grinding noise inside the clutch, may be rubbing the inner case. Will update!

Also actually check the gearbox sprocket for wear and tightness. If you haven't had the clutch off, you haven't checked that.

Moment of truth.....been able to resolve the issue today. Feel kinda ashamed actually....it turned out to be a wrong spark plug, just couldn't figure out. Surprised it was giving a feel as if something was getting stuck on high speed. In the bargain following things or issues got highlighted and sorted. I carried out wheel alignment with thread and found that front wheel is off, handle wasn't straight, rectified. The rear snail cams aren't equal...equal number of notches were making the wheel go right...rectified. Chain was cleaned and well lubricated, the sprockets and chain have lot of miles left. Happy its running beautiful again!! Thanks everyone from valuable suggestions and support!!!

Glad you found the culprit! These are noisy beasts so it can make it tricky to diagnose problems whilst running. Look how educational it was to try to track it down. The only true failure is when nothing is learned.

Thus proving my bike is not unique in that regard.  8)

True....each bike has distinct characteristics of its own, this is what  makes the ownership wonderful. Like my bike I can always start in two kicks all the times and when my sons start it may take 10 kicks.
