It's been raining most of last night and this morning, but at about 11am there was a break in the clouds and the roads started drying up.  I was DYING to try out the GPS speedometer app I downloaded for my phone, so I taped my phone to the gas tank and took off for the back roads while the getting was good.  Crazy idea, I know, but I have great faith in 3M green automotive painters tape.    :)  Anyways I wanted to lay out my base line top speed before I start tuning the carb.  How fast you ask?  Exactly 75mph.    :(   I think we have room for improvement.

Anyways, as I was slowing down from my top speed, I came across an amazing photo opportunity.  An old pasture filled with dead trees as the next rain storm was moving in.  I slammed on the brakes and pulled over immediately.  These 3 came out the best.  Enjoy!

P.S.  I LOVE me some back country roads!    :D

The bike looks great! Nice background, too.

That thing is so bad ass.  Great photos.  Looks like great riding.

You know... "Storm" aint a bad name for that beast (Beast isn't a bad name for that beast, either).  Or Thunder.

My wife said I should call it Missy, short for mistress, because I spend more time with my bike than I do with her.  LOL  Honestly, I was thinking of naming it something in the Apache language, I like navezgane - killer of monsters or maybe ittindi - lightning or possibly nalyudi - he runs about.

Ride it, wrench it, become one with it.
It will tell you its name when the time is right.

That's how it's always been for me with all my rides.  There's just something about this bike......
