That's nothing..

My RE has a 9 speed semi-automatic gearbox and can be powered by twin hovercraft propellers when the shaft drive fails.

On a serious note, I thought that '6 speed' must be a typo but after noticing 'shaft drive', I was  :o and  :(

I see they forgot to mention the overhead cam and the water cooling.

What a bunch of knotheads!!

That's funny.  They're all hyping up the "new shaft drive", and then don't even show a pic of the drive side of the bike.

I would be surprised if they are selling RE's for more then a year.

Dealers like that come and go like a river.

FWIW...

I was suspicious when the "color" field showed the price - obviously something odd was going on.  So I responded to the ad... pointed out the obvious mistakes and suggested that they might want to fix them lest they suffer poor sales and, even worse, be the potential butt of RE community jokes.

Their reply:

"Thank you for pointing this mistake out to us....it was not for our lack of knowledge, but our desire to use automation for grabbing our data. We did not double check the entry and we appreciate you bring this to our attention. Hopefully the community will not mock us, but instead realize that we simply made a mistake."

It's fun to "mock" these guys - I'm as guilty as the next guy.  But I think we can use all the support we can get...

It wasn't my intention to "mock" anybody.  Just thought it was interesting they posted an ad over a month ago and didn't bother to proof it and apparently no one else brought it to their attention.

With all the bad stuff going on in this world= stormy weather, school shootings, economy, gun control, it's sometimes nice to find something to smile about. ;)

They just misspoke about 4 times in their ad, a time or 2 is one thing but ...

TWinOKC - I'm not pointing any fingers.  But we do tend to be hard on people when these ads come up - and sometimes rightly so.   ;)

You're right, though - it's amazing that these things get by the "professionals"...

IMO that's not too bad of a price for a RE with such low mileage plus the 1 year warranty.

It is kinda sad that the speaker didn't know that the bike is a C5, not a G5 like he said it was but I guess that can be forgiven (unless his paperwork says it is a C5 which it isn't).
