If I were doing some distance riding on my AVL, I would not leave the driveway without 2 extra spark plugs and an extra throttle/clutch cable w/the tools required to change.

Do you know about Dirk's 'long ride'? He bought a B5 in Seattle and rode it home to Virginia, 4600 miles. This is the report:

My understanding was that he stayed away from high speed roads and the bullet performed well, no serious issues.

I've found crashbars to be essential offroad but wonder wether the elaborate wrap around's (as seen in India) have a real advantage over a simple one?

There is an alloy engine guard available. How does it hold up in the world of rocks?

Another cause of concern are branches that seek to get stuck between rear brake and muffler. At one time it made me looking for that lovely bbq only to find out a smoldering pine branch at my right foot.

Hand guards are very functional against cold and branches.

Head light protection is another consideration. However I find the price excessive for what it is. Maybe better make it a diy-project.
