FWIW, my friend just blacked out the chrome spare wheel on his Suzuki Sidekick with a spray can of Plasti-Dip and it came out pretty good.  I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my rims.  I'm sure it will take a little masking to keep the spokes clean and the first tire lever of the next tire change will gouge it BUT it's an easy, cheap, and reversible way to get a little more black.

I like the playing card trick!  Still, I'd go with the PlastiDip.  I don't need to sand the chrome and it's easily reversible since it peels right off.  I also don't intend to paint the spokes or hubs.

Gotta say though, for a quick and dirty job that looks magnificent!  And I think black wheels immediately give the bike a great old school look.

alright, alright! now I  have to find a shop that powdercoats, anyone know a place in NC? I'll search around.

All of this black rim talk is getting to me. Ha ha. I typically black out all of the rims on the cars that I drive but I had to stop that when I bought a G8...so I'm thinking the Bullet can be a good compromise
