i duct taped my camera to the passenger peg and took a ride. i got it up to 65mph during the ride. that is the part when you just hear wind noise.
toward the end i an cruising at about 50 and you can hear it then.
sorry for the extended look at my boot, i thought it was aimed out a little more.

That sounds great. Did you put on that airbox mod as well?

Rat, thanks so much for doing that.  It sounds great and not nearly as loud as I feared it might.

Motorat,
Thanks for getting the audio out for this exhaust. This does help if in case my finance minister (my wife  ;)) does give me some allowance!!  :D
Yeah, mileage would be good to know after the intake mod; Thanks for doing it for the rest of us!

so on the first 140 mile loop from sebastopol to santa rosa to bodega bay to duncans mill to tomales and back to sebastopol with a run on the highway it got 69.6 mpg.....just about what i was getting with my riding style before the instalation of the complete D&D system. throttle response is better and i love the exhaust note.

Motorat, thanks for the update...now you've got me itching to install the new filter and breather that's been sitting on a shelf in my garage for a month. Any quirky things about the install or pretty straight forward? I'm looking forward to gaining the toolbox. Either way, I agree, I'm really liking the way the D&D sounds on my bike too and I'm happy with the purchase...but i'm in WI, so it's been pretty cold for riding lately, highs only around 40 F.

Pic of the intake/air cleaner please :)

Good to hear it hasn't affected your MPG.

on the install it says to remove the air box, also remove the tool box for easier install of the air filter. it was pretty straight foreward and took less than an hour. i'll get a pic of the filter tonight,
here is the new tool box.
and the new position of the 02 sensor....it is moved inward and no spacer is required for the crash bar now.

I like that spot for the O2 sensor, more stealthy.

I'm generally not a fan of loud aftermarket exhausts but this one is really pulling me in.

Hey fellas! Just would like to add my input on the D&D slip on. New to the forum so dont want to step on any toes( motorat for one for his excelent posting of video ). Would like to point out some things I felt havnt been posted on this particular exhaust.....( i wear a full face helmet ) and the note for me from stock even at idle is noticibly deeper and anything from idle is a very resonding "THUMP THUMP THUMP" Which I love, but the people around might not. I havnt passed a patrol man yet but I fear anything but pulling in the clutch and passing him at idle might get me pulled over! ( I might add im in Ca. where sneezing might get me a ticket though ) The chroming finish on these are top notch!! I dont know if anyone else has noticed this but since changing to the D&D I used to shift from 4th to 5th gear at 45 mph and now I shift at 55 mph. Also as others have noted ive experienced a slight loss of low end torque....maybe cause of lack of back pressure? Anyways I love it and im gonna run it untill the tickets ( or neighbors ) outweigh my eargasms!! LOL!! Cheers Skoont!

I wouldn't worry too much about the noise. These things are quite inoffensive. The cops in SoCal seldom even look at Jack or me. Straight pipes might get a look, but none of the mufflers seem to.
Did have one actually turn around to see what we were up to on the 74 by Idlewild. We stopped as he went by the other way and when he got back to us, he just asked if we were OK, then drove on.  Maybe he was looking for a couple of kids blasting around and found we were just a couple of old sods and not worth messing with. Not that we weren't riding about as quickly a you can ride an Enfield under the circumstances. Like I say, they are very inoffensive.
Don't worry about it, just ride and enjoy! It keeps a smile on your face.

I already have Silman short bottle silencer (Indian made) with OEM replacement K&N air filter. The exhaust header pipe is still OEM.
Since with D&D full exhaust system seems to give the same mileage as stock; I am thinking about just getting the UP-4182 POD filter and attach it directly to the TB...Folks in this forum had tried directly attaching K&N air filter and had drop in mileage...Any idea if there might be similar issues with "UNI POD filter" setup?
I really do want to get the D&D full system but can't afford it right now...
Thanks.

You would have the same problem. The intake tract length is the problem. You need a long Ram tube to get a smooth flow of air into the injector tube. That one doesn't like turbulence.

i emember the tube length discussion and was surprised that d&d had you put it right on the throttle body. it might be worth while to add a piece of pvc infront of the filter to see if it increases the mileage.

Just installed the full DD exhaust on my Deluxe 500. I love it! It's loud but not crazy. The idle is not offensive, nor is it too loud when riding in a higher gear (to get out of my neighborhood without making my neighbors hate me.) When you open it up though, it gets loud and rips!

Haven't installed the airbox mod yet. Already it has made a big improvement. The sound makes it so much more fun to ride. It seems to have a little more torque, and the biggest thing I notice is it vibrates less on the highway. Cruising at anything between 65-75 was a lot of vibration before, the engine seems to run a lot smoother now.

If you have Instagram I posted a video. Search #ddexhaust #royalenfield #bullet500 tags and you'll find it.
