Who here has, or has seen, the highest mileage RE anything with an AVL motor?

I'm just curious as to how long, with proper maintenance and use, the AVL motor will go before rebuild is a must?

Cheers.

I've seen albeit , not mine, 92mpg on an AVL last year at a single cylinder rally sponsored FSSNOC. It was an early AVL that was sent to my dealer before/ while they were being accepted for use here in the States.
I haven't heard of any needing a rebuild.

I have just under 4000 miles.

I consistently got 70-72 mpg stock, and now get anywhere from 59-69 mpg in modified form.

I do currently have the highest SPM for any AVL RE in my county.

Lalli Singh of New Delhi in India mentioned to me that they were getting over 40,000 on the AVLs without any problems at all.  He contrasted that to the iron cylinder ones which he said could give problems much earlier, by 15,000 I think he mentioned.

In contrast, there was mention once of an older gentleman who had gone 250,000 on his old (late 60s?) BMW before its first rebuild, and over 350,000 in all.  BMW K-75s, often referred to as "bullet-proof" have routinely gone over 200,000 without much problem.

Some confusion here between mileage and miles.  Mileage (mpg?), total miles.
