My B5 has Avon Speedmaster Mark II tires, 3.25x19 front, 3.5x19 rear.  The manual says 18psi front, 28 psi rear.  The placard on the frame says 24psi front, 32 psi rear.  The dealer left them at 25psi front, 25psi rear.

Suggestions?

Keep the rear at least 28-30psi. Front 18-20psi.

That's where I keep my tyre pressures at and have been getting consistent 74-75mpg  ;D No wobbles either.

I think I've got my B5 tires at approx. 26psi. front and 34psi. rear. I don't like soft tires and I am a bit of a lard a**.

The placard on the frame is maximum load psi ,if I remember correctly. Monroe Motors would return it to that every time I took it in to them and it would handle all wrong after with just my 170lbs. I would then drop it down to around 18-19 front and 28-29 rear and it would handle right again.  Much depends on the load it carries on a day to day basis .

I'm definitely on the heavy side at over 240. I have always gone by the "max" pressure stated on the tire sidewall, even way back when I was a lot lighter. Never had a handling problem on any bike from doing this, and tires seem to last longer.

+1.  Remember that these bikes are often used like pickup trucks and carry 3 or 4 people.  If it's just you try with the lower pressures recommended here.

The B5 is not the same animal as the C5. The B5 has the old frame type, like the Iron Barrel.

The B5 with the Speedmasters are essentially the same set-up as the Iron Barrel bikes. I use 28 psi in the front, and 32 psi in the rear.

I once had the front leak some air over the winter, and got down to 18 psi and it was so squirrelly that I was afraid that it would make me dump the bike.
How anybody is riding on these tires at 18 psi is completely beyond me.
Avon's spec is 28 psi front.

With K70s, I found the ride to be much nicer with about 20F and 25R.
With the Skidmasters, they are so hard I don't think it mattered whether or not there was air in them at all. ;)

With the AM26s on the C5 I had a front flat and could barely tell from the handling.  That's a stiff tire!
