At over 11,000 miles I still find a shiny sludge on my magnet every time.   Never any big bits, just fine metal powder.

Ok, so is there an easy way to get just a little oil out of the engine?  None of the straws or tubes I have will reach down to the where the oil's at, and I don't relish the idea of removing that drain plug just to remove a few ounces of oil...

Instead of the main plug just loosen the two bolts tha hid in the filter screen a bit.  That will trickle instead of gush and you can easily tighten it back up mid flow.

How much did you over fill it? Have you tried riding it? It may be OK. I've overfilled my a bit, nothing but oil showing in the sight glass and never had a problem.

Well, I'm not sure how much I overfilled it, since I couldn't figure an easy way to remove just the over fill (Scotti's idea of loosening the screen's cover is brilliant).  But yes, I did ride it... a 300 mile round-trip run over the last couple of days.  Seems to be ok.
