Trip this past weekend from Tellico Plains, TN into Robinsville NC on Cherohala Parkway- An awesome road for the G5 Classic! 40 mph sweeping curves and climbs from 1000 ft to 5000 ft...Not an adrenaline high of Dragon's Tail further down loop, but totally zen chill ride with views and fall colors.  Can recommend staying in Tellico TN at place called Cherohala Trails Campground...nice people and clean catering to bikers.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you live in some good Enfield riding country!

That's about 45 minutes from where I live.
All the roads around here are like that. No traveling needed to get to nice biking roads around here.

Every so often my group rents a cabin or two in Tellico Plains, across the river and just up the road from the Shell station...  Wonderful riding, several primo roads to explore in the area when the Dragon gets overpopulated.

+1 to all that was said about the area

If you are in the neighborhood, be sure to drop by the cool museum in Maggie Valley, NC - Wheels Through Time  -  Its an all American made museum, lots of HD's and a lot of one off bikes, a really nice guy owns and operates the place, they even fired up some of the old bikes for us.
