This is one of my favorite videos on a trip to India and riding to Himalayas on RE by an Australian. One can vicariously go on a journey and experience the country and the ride - without leaving the chair !

It's amazing what they can do sitting on the floor barefoot. Best part was the spray booth with no masks. Reminds me of my younger days. ERC

They started that ride in 126F humid weather? I complain about 95 degree weather! Guess I'm getting old! But at any rate I don't like it. I'll stay home.

Very good Singh!

On the ride to the Himalayas the guy says "most of the roadside repairs are done with a hammer"  ;) ;)

The guys doing the restoration are quite skilled, no need for safety equipment, just get her done.  Turned out beautiful!

Good stuff,Singh5...thanks for sharing. Riding an obviously stock motorcycle in that environment really
puts the so called 'adventure rider',with all of the 'special ADV equipment' such as GPS,panniers,'special tires' and ,of course the required waxed Belstaff  suit in the deserved comical light......Especially here in the US.

Everyone should have a Belstaff suit for their Enfield. Too bad they are so damned expensive!

Yikes!  Heard so many terrible stories of the nightmare Rohtang pass.  I skipped it and went to Ladakh via the Spiti valley then continued to Kashmir.  Knee deep mud, days long traffic jams and boulders coming from above, no thanks!

Rohtang La, means Pass of the Dead in Ladakhi.. It is always messy, muddy.. more so when we attempted in the cold morning of late June 2011 in my 2009 Standard 350 CI.  Due to heavy fog, couldn't see the fall side of the mountains. Fell down many times, and got help from locals and lorry drivers.  At last found the method to maneuver in mud ... put your legs on the ground and move like a toddler moving in his bike..get  your legs into the muddy, coldy water and sludge.. It took four hours from Manali to Rohtang Top (50 kms).

But I will do it again..may be in 2015...
2013 planned for Nepal and
2014 to Brazil..World cup.
