Congratz!!!! Before you ask..... Yes... the gear box does get better and will stop jumping out of gear eventually!!!

Replace the battery if it starts leaking, otherwise.... Enjoy!
To ride or not to ride... That is the question!

I like the chrome on the DeLuxe.
There aren't many bikes around today with chrome on them, outside of the Harleys.
I bought a DeLuxe Iron Barrel model 2000.

Enjoy your bike!
It looks great!

You will get a LOT of attention at the gas stations and in the parking lots.
Be ready for it. Work on a short explanation for the people who ask you about it when you don't have time to talk. People will be asking about it long after the novelty of explaining the bike wears off.

What happened to the Chrome / Black one?  Wasn't that you with the military repaint/unpaint saga?

yep. at the moment that chrome black is still with me. just waiting now for the new owner to complete the final payment.
when i bought the black/chrome in jan 2012 i was originally after the maroon version. there were none in stock and a long 3 months wait for the next shipment from india.
so 3 or 4 weeks ago i again got the bug and inquired about the maroon/chrome i was told this time i was in luck and the importer had 2 in stock.
so i made a quick decision and placed a deposit and now its another run in period for me.

You're not keeping the accessories off the black bike?

Boy, don't you just hate to break up the pair?  They both look awesome, personally the black and chrome is my favorite, but that's just me, enjoy the new red one!   ;)

hi
i sold the bike with all the accessories included. i tried the efi on the black c5 and that was a good move.this time i've ordered some thing different - the hitchcock's goldstar.
once it arrives it will be interesting to see how it performs on the bike.
i've done about 220 miles in the first couple of days of the new ownership. only thing altered off the bike was the fitting of an ngk iridium plug.
fuel consumption was around 100 mpg. our gallon is 4.5 litres not usa way 3.7 or something like that.
now my thoughts on the new c5 with the straight forks and 19" wheel.
straight off the bat the very first thing i noticed it appears to be a far better handler in the twisties. it just likes to lay over and follow through.very happy here.
did a quick oil change apart from dirty oil - both filter and screen clean of debris.
dealer fitted a small front windscreen for free. pretty happy with this also. gives a far more relaxing ride

Thanks for the quick comparison on old fork vs. new.  Do you have the 19" front wheel?  Let us know more once it's broken in and you can take up to speed.

Thanks,
Scott

Can't... quite... read... that......... label!  What does it say?  ;)

Does it have just the two support struts attached to the handlebars?  I like the look of it, and I'm considering just such a thing as the weather gets colder - I hope to ride until they start spraying my roads with salt...

I have the Slip Streamer Tombstone WindShield HD-3 - Clear on the C5 and looks pretty good with the bike without being too big. It offers decent wind protection. Here is the link;

I got the windshield offered by Nfieldgear from my dealer.

http://nfieldgear.com/enfield-store/aftermarket-parts-accessories/windshields/premium-windshield-1.html

In my opinion, it is a most excellent windshield, made in America and it provides good wind/rain protection without looking too large for the bike.
It is easily removed, leaving the aluminum bar clamps in place and the clamps are small enough that they aren't too noticeable.

Around town I like to ride without the windshield installed but on the road it does a fine job.
I was quite surprised after my trip up to Flagstaff that even with the windshield installed I got almost 80 mpg fuel economy.

Did it take long to find a buyer? And, not to be too personal, but did you get a good price?

I have a Givi Airstar A602 windshield that I like pretty well. There's no buffeting, but I set it really high to get the air above my helmet. The only problem is that the air coming around the sides is just the width of my helmet, so it does make the ride louder. I'd like a shield the same shape, but 4 inches wider and 6 higher.
