The toolboxes say its an electra, which is what the G5 is called in europe....And I dont think CMW ever brought a silver G5 to the states.

No, the UCE engine hadn't even been developed back in 2006.
It appears to be a UCE bike like a G5, with the bodywork from an older AVL Electra.

Something is not right.
Some kind of funny business going on there.

It looks like the Electra EFI. Probably was not an import and definitely not a 2006. Probably originally had an AVL in it.

That bike was there when I bought mine last week. I thought it was just a customized G5. It looks like it was done to achieve a more "vintage" look:  two tone paint, re-stiched seat with a 'tuck-and-roll' type top panel, and the RE logo stiched on the back of the seat.  I *think*  they wrote down the wrong year in the ad;  I doubt they are intentionally trying to mislead.

Royal Enfield of Ft Worth is the largest US dealer of these bikes?

Good for them.

It does look like a customized G5, probably a 2009.
The hot dog containers are painted flat black, the tank, side covers and mudguards repainted, the tail light/license plate support blob removed and the front fender bobbed.

I think it's a nice improvement all in all and I'm betting they just put the wrong year in the ad.

Why do so many dealers make that claim?  They can't all be the largest, can they?  ???

the tag on the handlebar says it is a 2008.  That UCE looks a bit squarish up near the rocker-boxes .....  I'm thinking that bike may be (one of) the first UCE sent over for trade shows.    Wonder what the Frame Number & Engine Numbers are ?

Last year, the dealer in San Francisco was number 1.

I would also guess it's a pre-production bike.  Mostly old chassis, a few dressy bits like the seat, and a UCE engine.  If it weren't for the fancy embroidery on the seat I'd say someone just put a UCE engine in an older frame.

It looks exactly like an electra EFI, including the black hotdog boxes. I am betting someone brought it over from the UK. Even the base color (silver) is original. The blue bit is added on.

I really like the Lucas Style tail light and traffickers on the Dallas/Ft Worth bike.

Those don't look like the ones from Nfield Gear?

I've seen this bike in person, both before and after it was painted.  It's a very early UCE/EFI Electra.  It was originally silver, but has been repainted with the two tone paint and lightly customized.  The original owner bought it for his wife and soon realized it was impractical for commuting in 75mph traffic.  It's a good looking, low mileage bike.  I think it's actually a late 2008.

Michael Baker of Royal Enfield FT  Worth  is the largest used Enfield dealer in the US.He all ways has a great selection of new and used Royal Enfield bikes, parts ,shirts ,hats etc. I met him at the BMOA rally in New Ulm Tx this past may,he had a nice display of bikes at the event.2012 was the year of the Royal Enfield,a nice photo describing the event was in Walnecks Aug issue. the add unfortunately must have contained a typo.

You guys in the Dallas/Ft Worth area are lucky having 2 good RE dealerships.  Strokers in Dallas has more models of Enfields than I have ever seen and they have at least one guy there dedicated to Enfield motorcycles (they have other brands).  Oklahoma has 1 dealer (a real nice guy) but Enfields are not their main brand.  New bikes and parts are somewhat "limited".
