Decided to put little mirrors on my Bullet.  The ones in the attached picture are 3 inch diameter aftermarket pieces.  They are poor quality.. but maybe they'll last for awhile.  The adaptors were made useing 7/16 fine thread bolts that were drilled and tapped on the inside  5/16-18.  The stock mounting lugs on the bars is 10mm-1.25mm pitch metric.  They were drilled out and tapped for the 7/16 gringo thread bolts.  The bend in the stems was increased to bring down the mirrors so that they are now rather close to the handlegrips.  That makes it so that they are almost useable if I tuck in my arm.

Those are nice little mirrors. I just added the barends from the catalog and although they are not the greatest as far as seeing anything they do look good.

Hey.  What's more important...your safety or looking cool?  Nuff said.  In my mis-spent youth I had a Gold Star.  The mirror [singular] was a 3/4" dia. dental mirror under the clutch lever.  When a Highway Patrol officer asked what I could see out of it I replied, truthfully,  "My knee".  My truthfulness was rewarded by a citation for "inadaquate rear view mirror" along with some issue about the megaphone exhaust.

Those are some pretty nice mirrors.  Bet you can even use them for seeing what's behind you.  My little mirrors were cheap but don't funtion very well.  Didn't want to drop too much money on mirrors right now.  I fully plan on installing clip-on bars after next Aug. so the mirrors and everything else on the existing bars will not be useable.

I asked for it.  He pulled me over because of a very loud megaphone on an old BSA Gold Star.  It was rediculusly loud.  But I think he was unsure if infact it really was my bike making the noise or another bike that was near by when I got his attention.  He asked me to start the bike.  That was never very easy and was impossible at that time because I kept my finger on the kill button.   Finially he figured I was not going to get it running so he pulled up a thin, tall weed growing beside the road and striped off the leaves.  He stuck the switch up the megaphone and further up the exhaust pipe to put the lie to my saying there was a baffle somewhere in the system.  I said "Keep going and you'll hit an exhaust valve".  That did it.  He started writing.  It was then that he asked about my ability to see anything with the dental mirror.  Like I said, I was asking for it.
