So... I'm off tomorrow to the dealers (2 in MI) to see what they have.  I called ahead and nobody has a Mil Green :-(  If I end up really wanting that model... should I consider ordering one shipped to me from a dealer in another state?  Has anyone else done that?

And is it just me or did the TX dealer on ebay just raise his prices $500 now that the Days of Summer $500 off special is in effect???

Hastings has a Desert Storm...  Or is it a Military? It's the light green matte-finish.

Anyway, they had one in May, when I bought my Special, "Fiona."

If they don't have one, order it. They can have it shipped in from MN and assembled for you in a week.

Yes, order the one you want. It's all worth it. In the end, you'll be walking out with a huge smile.

If that's the one you want shoot them a best offer and see what happens.  I purchased mine from them and they were easy to work with.  I know they frequently sell bikes out of state.

Let's see, that model lists for $6595 full price, RE is presently offering $500 off list on new bikes. That puts this bike at $6095. TX dealer on ebay wants $7090. I think with his math skills and numbers manipulation, he should be working for our present administration..... ;)

I recently bought a new 2012 C5 Special, Chrome/black (the most expensive model in the line-up), for significantly less than that, and that was without the $500 discount.

Just got back!  Only made it to Reinbold's in Reese.  Great people there!  They told me the Mil Green one would take a week if I order it.  Still haven't seen one in person though.  Stopped by the obligatory HD dealer to see what they had in the showroom... nice bikes... way overpriced!

They had MSRP on each of the 3 REs they had in stock.  I mentioned the $500 "rebate" and they said they really didn't know much about that yet, but usually do better than MSRP - $500 anyway :-)

So... now... what to do... they said they likely won't order any more floor stock this season.  So I'm not likely to see the Mil Green one unless I order it.  Took the card of the owner (he was out today), will have to call him on Monday and see what I can work out I guess...

Took my buddy with me who has a HD and just rebuilt an OLD Triumph... all the way there he said you'll want a HD... after the RE dealer... he was hooked... he nearly bought the used British Racing Green RE they had in the back!

The guys at Reinbolds are decent folk. Once you get your bike, i'm trying to set up a ride for a bunch of us in the
Ontario Michigan Ohio area.  Toledo seems to be the meeting point our rather central to us all. I'm in Chatham Ontario myself.

I'm tellin' ya, MC Supply in Hastings has one on the sales floor.

(...unless they've sold it since I bought my Fiona, six weeks ago.)

OK, I'll call again on Monday...when I called them on Friday they said they only had the Desert Storm model which is more of a tan and not really green.  They are a couple of hours drive from me so if they don't really have one... it would be a wasted trip.

Thanks.

You've seen the bikes in person now.  If you think you'll like the OD green I'll bet you'll love it even more when you see it.  While it's not my style it looks amazing and is popular everywhere it goes.  If that's what you think you want and you can't get to see it in person I'd say order it.
