First and foremost...has anyone actually mounted the tank rack? Mine came, with no instructions as usual, with the butterfly bar and saddlebag racks. I am NOT drilling the tank for this thing. Was thinking of some magnet mounts. It would be a cool thing to pop my Garmin on. Ideas? Also, I would love to get the extra capacity tank, but wonder if its like having a gas can between your knees. Anyone mounted one yet? Olive drab paint...WHY O WHY can't I get mine matched..appreciate ideas on that problem too!

I thought the rack comes with the spider suction mounts (you didn't get them?)

I was thinking about purchasing the tank rack myself while at the dealer. Hope the installation goes smoothly. I am interested to know if tank drilling is required.

Does anyone make a big capacity tank for the uce yet? Most of those offered are for the iron barrel as the uce tanks need to fit the fuel pump instead of the usual fuel tap.

My G5 military came with the tank rack.  It was attached via suction cups and silicone.  The suction cups kind of got brittle and cracked so I have removed the rack for now.  I need to come up with a more permanent attachment.  Perhaps some leather straps that go around the tank width wise and length wise.  We shall see.

I think a couple brown or tan leather straps would look really good width wise around the tank.
suction cups just sounds really tacky and cheap don't know that id want that.

The tank racks I've seen are suction mounted with bungied around the filler cap and seat mount.  Powder coated black they look really good on the military bikes.

Mine came with nothing but the rack. I was thinking magnet mounting if i could think of a way to do it with out marking the tank. They would have to be stainless magnet holders, to prevent rust stains. As far as the extra capacity tank..yeah only seems to be the old style 500, because of the fuel tap.
