Just think of how much faster they could've been using ratchets and air guns!
Well, a good look at an early AVL anyway!

I enjoy the great care taken in keeping grit and grime away from critical moving parts.

What amazes me is that no fins were broken and how much can be done with rudimentary tools !! It'll probably run just fine once put back together. I couldn't even think about taking a big Honda apart without some specialized   tools!!! cochi ;D

It amazes me what people of very limited resources are able to achieve.
We on the other hand have the technology and financial ability to
succeed in most endeavors.   My shop is well equipped, I have invested in
machines and tools that for the most part guarantee success.

Last year a medical relief organization founded in Honduras asked me if
I would  work on their vehicles .   I had to decline,  for without my shop and its contents I would not be effective.

When you consider what these third world mechanics are able to accomplish
under these conditions and with what few tools and resources are available to them, you soon realize they are geniuses in their own right.

Thats also why you chaps rely so heavily on the RAF and the SAS.

And they travel without a Coke machine and air conditioning.

Yes, those non-union chaps are unencumbered.

These guys are complete hacks. I closed the vid seeing how they are removing the head.  :o

In the hands of a real RE "master" here in India, the engine opens up like a set of tumbling dominos.

Trust me, not many RE engines run as well as they did  from factory after they've been through such hands of a hack. Here, when it's time for a rebore,  a new cylinder+piston kit is recommended in place of a rebore because 95% of the guys can't get the clearances correct.

Cheers.

Your just hearing the usual turn signals, and stop signals, and go signals and change lane signals and parking signals and maybe the dog that is keeping a watchful eye on all the happenings. :)

I didn't bother watching the whole thing either. Anybody can take something apart. If you haven't got the brains not to set oily pieces in the dirt, I question their ability to ever be able to put it back together right. It might work for a while, but how many problems will it have due to lack of care and craftsmanship?
I know people that work with minimal tools and improvised tools, but they use a lot more care than that.
