Hey everyone,

I've noticed an increase in bluing (gold), approximately 10-12 inches (above to below first bend), and deep gold at the cat.  Am I paranoid to think this is indicative of a timing problem?  Am I running too lean?  Any input would be great.

If you have no other symptoms of overheating (like carb issues or spark plug blistering, or rough idle at full operating temperature, or clutch issues) then I wouldn't worry about bluing on the exhaust. Those other symptoms are more indicative of an actual overheating problem.

For excessive bluing, you can see images of my bike in the members' rides.  I had a combination of retarded timing and a lean mix.  It's all better now, I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt me later . . .
