Guys... I am currently stuck in one of the back roads in VT. My brand new C5 (I got it yesterday) stopped. I have a weird feeling it's the fuel. But the low fuel light didn't turn on, so I don't know. Anyways, I am waiting for my frd to come and pick me up. Will keep you guys updated

What do you see when you peer into the gas tank ?
Royal Enfield. Speed limits aren't a restriction to me, they're a goal !

has this happened to anybody before I was checking the user manual and they specifically mention not to run the engine dry.  :-\

My low fuel light was not connected properly when I got my G-5.  My problem was that the low fuel light came on with the ignition.  The red Enfield light came on when the fuel got low.  It was just a matter of putting the wires on the right lamps.  GA-DK

My low fuel light malfunctioned. I kept waiting for it to come on and thinking, "What great mileage I'm getting." I ran out of gas at 240 miles.
The bike still runs, and the light is coming on again, I think.
I don't trust it any more, so I watch my mileage.
I haven't run out of gas again.

My low fuel indicator stopped working about 8 months ago.
When it stopped working I decided to use a "Sharpie" to write down the mileage on my left handlebar so I wouldn't forget it.
Easy to subtract the number from the odometers reading and when the answer gets to about 150 miles I start looking for good fuel prices.

The pump is lubricated / cooled by the fuel as it passes through. Running it dry can heat up the pump as it has no "coolant". Cycling the pump on and off while trying to get a bike to run on air alone might not be good for the longevity of the pump.
+1 on the writing the milage down on the bar. I use a grease pencil on the bar mount. Keep in mind that distance travelled for each tank of fuel will vary depending on the twist your wrist.
