Hey can someone tell me the best oil an weight to use in the gear case? It's a 4speed super meteor.

Don't these old bikes use thin grease in their transmissions?  I know some of the Bullets did.

The manual recommends 40w oil for the gearbox, I use the grease they use in the later Bullets CMW has it. You could use 80-90w also. They leak a lot less with the grease. I'd use 10-30w in the primary.   ERC

00 grease is hard to find in small quantities these days.  Most places will sell it in 35lb buckets for heavy equipment and industrial gear.  Hence, buying from NFG/CMW.  "Grease" conjures up images of chassis lube and 00 is no where near that thick.  It's more a semi-liquid, pasty stuff, depending on the temp.  It gives up it's oil easily compared to say a wheel bearing grease.
