Going well, went from 110 to 120 on the main jet & from 25 to 30 on the pilot jet,  left the jet needle as is.  Fired right up, rode nice but couldn't hold an idle & plug was black.  Went went back to the 25, started fine, rode fine, no hiccups, coughs, sputters, accelerates smoothly.  Idle is a bit low & still a bit rich.  Play with that later.  So far so good.

that said... I took the horn off while dealing with the exhaust, put it back, popped on the connecters & nothing.  Ideas on this?

I ASSume that you checked to make sure you're still getting juice to the horn.
A little known fact. There is a screw on hte back of the horn that lets you adjust the volume. It is rather touchy and if you go just a hair to far on the high volume direction (CW) it will stop working.
Sometimes they can be set very close to the limit and it doesn't take much of a bump to go over the edge, as it  were. I don't know exactly which horn you have, but some of the screws are right in the center and some are off to the side. The UCEs are off to the side and covered with plastic stuff. I had to use water pump pliers to turn mine. Those are channel locks to you young pups!

Us pro's call them 'squeezers', not to be confused with 'turners' which are long pointy things used on screws.

If you are going to the low restriction  bits, best to go a step further and install the 30 mm flat slide carb. It will bring everthing together and the performance improvement is really amazing.

Just my tuppence

will finally  get this bike in for its state inspection tomorrow.

Last ride did a low rpm plug chop & got a mostly grey w/ some light brown spots so will play with the jet needle when I get home.

As much as I missed riding the bike,  I  equally enjoyed just taking apart & putting back together all the bits

Took it in for its inspection this morning, passed.  Popping when decelerating at low throttle setting,  played with the enrichment & idle adj screws & seems closer, grey/dark grey plug chop

Still tweaking the carb adjustments, close
Reason for the reposting is the bolt/nut holding the exaust bracket fell off.
I was able to get a 3/8, 24 to thread about 1/2 way on to hold it in place
Took the nut/bolt from the other side to a Fastenal place not to far away & he figures its a 1.25/15.  I'd have to buy a bag of 50, didn't want to do that & find out he was wrong.  So what is the treading on that thing.  None of the auto parts places or m/c parts guys had any.  Thoughts on a place to buy a mere handful?

You should be able to find that stuff at a hardware store, or Home Depot.
Hardware stores are usually good for metric stuff up to 6". Above that, then you have spend a lot of money at Mcmaster-Carr
