Bought the frame, tank, forks ,and engine of an enfield i was told was a 1958 made in britain Royal enfield 350cc.. beyond that i dont know anything. wondering if i could get help identifying the bike, and if the numbers in the pictures are the serial numbers or not? Any info on the bike would be great. Thanks.

The stamped numbers are probably the serial number, depending on who stamped them The cast ones are a casting number.

The transmission is a 4 speed with a pointer showing it is presently in neutral.
The lever is the Royal Enfield neutral finder that can shift the transmission directly into neutral from any gear.

It all looks correct to me.
I can't swear it's a 58, but it's definitely post-1955 Redditch, so it could be from 58.

The stamped number on the headstock is the frame number (VIN), and the stamped number on the gearbox is the serial number for the gearbox.
I'm not sure where the engine number on the singles is stamped, but on the twins it's on the left side of the crankcase right under the left hand cylinder.
Enfield matched engines and gearboxes, and the number of the gearbox was stamped on the front of the right hand engine case (at least on the twins).
The UK REOC is very interested in acquiring numbers for existing bikes, whether running or not, for a database they're accumulating.
PM me and I'll give you the email address of the REOC president who you can send your pictures to. He'll send you a reply with the year of manufacture, and the date your bike left the factory.
He's been very helpful to me in identifying several old frames and twin-cylinder engines I have in my collection.

Frame number 15401 is from a 1957 Indian Woodsman.
The engine number is stamped on the left hand side crankcase, parallel to front edge and reads from top to bottom.
I expect it to be a 4 digit number, but please advise as it is not recorded in the factory ledgers.
