Somewhere there are three relays.
There is turn signal relay,  a power relay and a fuel pump relay.
That doesn't include the roll over switch which is hidden under the sear on a G5.

As a aside, I had a Plymouth Arrow back in the '80s that had a rollover shutoff in the carburettor. It was a steel ball about 1/2" in diameter that would roll up a ramp in the bottom of a the float bowl and push the float up and close the needle. It took less than 1 lateral G to get it to shut off the gas. A good medium fast sweeping turn and a 4 wheel drift would do it.

Ya wanna see something blow a corner for you? Have your engine quit in the middle of it!
I removed the idiot ball. No mo' problems.

The Ducati redline ignition cutoff is like that, comes on around 9500 RPM and it's like hitting a wall.  Since the engine pulls like a train there's no indication from the bike that you're gettng close to redline.  The first time I hit it was midcorner at about 70mph.  The bike leaned in another ten degrees out of nowhere.  Scary as hell.  Now I know why they added a tach to the later Monsters!

I think I may have tracked it down... is it a two pronged relay?  There are three relays in the left side box that energize when the run switch is flipped on and then there is one that doesn't and I can start the bike without issue even if it is pulled (that's the two prong one)  Though when I hook my multimeter up to it and operate the switch, I have no power registering on it....well... that's not entirely true... at one point it said I had 11 volts there and then it stopped reading all together...

*sigh*

Thanks fr all the help and advice y'all.  I appreciate it.  Hopefully I can get this all sorted out and get back to riding it.

The two prong box is the turn signal.

This is not like the typical automotive turn signal relay that goes "click..click..click".  It is a solid state device that has a mind of its own.

I think the auto parts stores will have something that will work.

I know that those who have changed their bulbs to LED's needed to get a replacement that would work with the low current draw.

To test if it's the flasher relay causing the problem, turn the turn signal on and use a jumper wire (or paperclip) to jumper the two flasher wires. The signal should come on when you do this. Not flash, but come on. If it does, you know the flasher is bad and all the wiring is good.
