+1.  They are kinda heavy for being a smaller displacement bike but the center of gravity is low and the handling is light.  It's the one bike I've owned I wouldn't worry about picking up if it fell over.

Third, my dealer told me break in was 50 miles. To make sure I hit all the gears. I just over 400 now and I have hit 80 on the highway with no problems, albeit for only a few minutes.

Who is your dealer? There ain't no way in hell your bike is broken in in 50 miles! 500 miles to start to go over 55. He dropped a zero someplace!

Agreed, considering how much crap comes out with the oil at the 500 mile change there is no way you should be doing highway speed after only 50 miles.

Welll...That is rather concerning! I did change my oil at 400 (book said 300, dealer said 500, I split the difference). There was a a good bit of gunk stuck to the magnets.

So, now that I am over 500 miles, should I proceed any differently? I am about to take it in to a local dealer (different from the one I bought at) to get the first check.

You can start speeding up incrementally and use full throttle for short bursts. Still don't ride long distances at a steady speed. Vary your speed between 55 and 65 on the freeway, if you riding there. Just continue to treat it gently, it's not a racer.

+1 to Bare. After changing oil at 500km with a lot of crap coming out I changed at 1000km, then3000km, and afterwards every 3000km, just like the manual recommended. Don't forget to clean the sieve! Mine runs happily ever after   ;D

While the other colors including chrome were moribund and arguing which was faster, the super stealthy military green came and went without notice and got there first, ergo military green is the fastest.  ;)

Congrats on you Bullet Snowkid  8) many happy miles to you.

i had to go with the green- after a survey of my friends we decided the red put out too much of a lesbian vibe, but the green was girly without trying to be tough :)  plus it matches my old bianchi road bike i cruise around town.  aah priorities of a 30 year old.  now to find a nail polish in the same pretty green color so i can look good.  I actually wanted the military cause its so bad-ass, but all of my guy friends would be hounding me all of the time to take it out for a spin,  haha.
yep im going to get it from doug douglas tomorrow- hope they didn't sell it!
