Ladies and Gentlemen,

Hi

after months of waiting i picked up my brand new 2010 G5 in racing green saturday.

It's my first "real" bike and i"m really excited about it.

A little about myself, I live in montana, make guitars for a living and just enjoy life
Oh, since i saw the age poll, I'm 29

i"ve put almost 60 miles on the bike so far, bought it down in wyoming from re-cycle in Ralston. Jack is a great guy and treated me very well.

Thanks in advance for answering the stupid questions i"m sure i'll  come up with

Welcome.

Great group here.  No question is stupid except the one that you don't ask.

What kind of guitars do you make?

I am currently having my '67 SG Custom professionally restored due to a broken neck that happened about 37 years ago.

Took me this long to find the right guy to do the job, and about 3 month to talk him into it.

It's almost ready................took 2 years  (off & on).

Oooh, I'm no longer the 'new guy' now so welcome Paul! I bought my C5 in October and is the first bike I've owned. Love it to bits and make up lots of excuses to pop off for a bit of a ride.

So did my wife, I've only been there once (coming up from Yellowstone). She's going back for a few days next week.

I've been a part of a few gardiner stories myself, we shall just leave it there(stares off into the distance grinning whimsically)

I'm a production worker for Gibson acoustic, it a very interesting job.

so far the G5 is amazing, rode in 40 mph cross winds yesterday, any tips on that

Thanks for all the support, glad to be here

Don't be afraid to lean into the wind.  It will support you and your instincts usually take you right back up to vertical if the wind drops off suddenly.  Don't be afraid to slow down if you need to.

G'day and welcome. You have some nice country around your way, but Winter is just a bit too long for me.

Keep on making those guitars. My Les Paul is one of my favourites, but I have also played some very nice Gibson acoustics.

Yeah, hang on. It'll get you through OK. If you're not wearing a full face helmet, get a scarf. The blowing sand and other bits can smart!
I learned to ride in the wind in the early '60s in Wyoming. the lessons there have served me well!
Check the "EPIC ride" in trip report category.

TooSeeVee, how did we end up in such opposite corners of the country?

Hi Paul
Glad to hear you got your Enfield you'll have good times this summer I'm sure and as for the windy rides well there not fun on any bike and as Bare already revealed you gain lots of training in wind riding here in Wyoming but Montana has it's share also as I'm sure your aware.  Hope we cross paths one day.  bittercrick

hi paul, congrats. like you, the g5 is my first bike (just bought it in chrome in december) and i've loved it so far, despite some minor electrical problems. i'm also on the younger end of the RE owner age scale (32). happy riding, and welcome to the club.
